Attack Driving Panic-Experiencing and Controlling Attacks That Drive Panic While Driving

Attacks driving panics can occur anywhere, and in most of the cases at public places and homes. One of the most dangerous places where the occurrence of an attack driving panic can be seriously dangerous is while driving a vehicle.

A panic attack while driving can be very dangerous, sometimes fatal. If a person suffers from panic attacks, then one of your greatest fears is experiencing an attack driving panic while driving a vehicle. Alternatively, you have had a panic attack experience before and you afraid of having one again.

Although there nothing one can do to avoid a panic attack completely when a person gets into his/her car, there are some steps that can be taken if an attack is felt like coming. It is always a smart idea to be prepared so that one doesn't give up driving completely due to the fear of experiencing an attack that drives panic in the car. If you feel a sense of an attack coming your way, you should pull your car over immediately. If you are unable to pull over then bring your car to a stop as soon as possible and park it.

Remember; an actual panic attack normally last about 15 to 20 minutes, so just get out of your car, and sit on the side of the road or in a car parking lot until the panic attack has passed. If possible, avoid the freeway and take the streets, because it easier to pull over if there is any need. Holding your breath will build in your blood, this makes you light headed and can possibly lead to a Subsequent Panic Attacks. What you have to do is take deep and slow breaths. It sounds silly, but you can also do is to count numbers in your head or think a topic such as vegetables, and think of as many vegetables as you can remember.

Listening to some soothing music is also a good idea. Always keep a relaxing and a soothing CD in your car, or an MP3 player. Close your eyes and concentrate on what you are listening. If possible, relax your entire body by reclining you car seat. Continue taking slow and deep breathes. Calling and talking to a friend or spouse can sometimes help you. Always keep your cellular phone with you and call someone close to you like a friend or family member during a panic attack or an attack driving panic.
